Aspiring Hindu - 01

Hello there, how's life? I mean the Hindu way of life.
Is Hindu a way of life or is it a religion? What does it feel like.
Isn't religion also a way of life? How is then Hindu way of life different from other religious ways of life?

We all have heard the stories of how outsiders gave us this name Hindu, well I am not going into that. But, what is important is what happens inside this Hindu way of life or within this community. What do they do, their philosophy, culture, traditions, literature etc.,
Are we all just some superstitious people who consider cow as mother and worship idols, waste thousands of rupees on marriages, fast now and then, put our destiny in the hands of celestial bodies? What are we?

Of course we do all the above mentioned stuff, the question is not why we do it or how long we have been doing it, are we apologetic about it? Are we? Are you? Do you hesitate to put a tilak on your forehead or celebrate your festivals? Do you always find yourself explaining your way of life? If so, have you ever asked why? Who put you into this space where you have to constantly explain yourself? Are we traumatized as a community? Have we healed from it? Isn't this the time that we accept what happened to us and heal from it?

But the question is how? How do we heal from our traumas? What is it that we must accept, which trauma are we talking about? Is it even real or just a propaganda of some right wing political party?
Now this again is something that you have to answer yourself. Again, I would like ask you the same question, how's life hindu, how's the hindu way of life?

How was that recent visit to your temples? Are you even going there or worried if that is a superstitious activity?

I mean the worship of idols, is there even god? Why so many gods? Why go temple, why not worship in your own house? Why pay extra to that priest for archana?
Your educated brain might have hit you with all these questions or someone else's? Have you tried answering those questions? Does it intimidate you?

As a practicing Hindu, we face with hundreds of questions in our day to day life. The very way of living as a hindu has been made difficult. But, if you are still pursuing that way of life, then kudos to your persistence and don't worry we got the answers for every question, we also got questions for every questioner.

That's all for now, in the upcoming articles of this series we will discuss more on this.

Thank you.

Yours,
Aspiring Hindu.
